SSIUH Inaugural

Sen Sok International University Hospital was held on 6th April 2010 in a sunny morning with a pleasant weather. H.E. Sok An – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister In charge of the office of the Council of Ministers was the Chief Guest at the occasion. The hospital on the inaugural day was decorated with colorful welcome banners for the Guests especially the Guest of Honor.

The Honorable Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by the officials, staff, professors, national and international guests and students.

All the audience stood up to honor him. The Honorable Chief Guest also replied by waiving hands to them. The Honorable Chief Guest offered the religious ceremony and offered gifts to the religious leaders with pray and wish of a better future of the hospital. The Apsara Dance was the next to present in front of the Honorable Chief Guest. The international guests at this occasion, they like very much the dance. In fact, the Khmer culture has a strong relation with the Apsara dance. The dance is as famous as Angkor Wat. The performers of the Apsara Dance were appreciated by all the people gathered for the inaugural ceremony.

H.E. Sabo Ojano thanked and welcomed the Honorable Guest for sparing his precious time and honoring the inaugural ceremony of the hospital. He also thanked the distinguished guests. He discussed the role of the International University in the field of health sciences and the facilities available at the Sen Sok International University Hospital. Regarding the International University, he discussed about the standard facilities, the university is offering to the students. The facilities include a well equipped library, modern laboratories, latest published books, wireless internet, study tours and exchange programs. He discussed by the facilities like CT scan, Echo and others at the hospital along with the future plans of the hospital. He informed the audience about the oncology unit soon to be opened near the hospital. For this unit international doctors will be hired to manage the patients and supervise the unit.

H.E. Sok An Deputy Prime Minister, Minister In charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers was invited respectfully next to say goodwill words to the audience. He thanked the President SSIUH for honoring him as a Chief Guest at the occasion. In his speech, he advised the medical students to work hard and serve their own country. He mentioned that medicine is a noble profession and the International University should provide the latest knowledge of medicine to their students. The professors should take responsibility to update their knowledge about patient disease. He was happy to hear that the hospital have latest equipments and the patients need not to go to any other country. He assured the government full support for working for the poor people. After his speech, He awarded medal to the different professors fro the extraordinary services to the hospital. The professors included H.E. Professor Oun Sabo, Professor Hideo Hidai, Professor Matela Ivan and Professor Callum Durward. Then he officially inaugurated the hospital. He visited the different sections of the hospital; he was joined by H.E. Ouk Rabun, Minister for finance and economy. The Honorable Chief Guest specially appreciated the efforts of the hospital for establishment of Cambodia Japan Friendship Blood Purification Center. The Chief Guest was informed that this center is a gift from the people of Japan. Visiting the health expo was the last area, where the Honorable Chief Guest was happy to see the different Pharmaceutical companies displaying their products. The companies were awarded special participation certificates for the Health Expo. (Cambodia hospital events.)
